Following the permanent closure of the High Street Post Office last month, the owners of The Red Lion pub have stepped in to ensure residents aren't left stranded. Starting next Monday, the pub's function room will host a pop-up Post Office counter every Tuesday and Thursday morning.

"When we heard elderly regulars saying they’d have to take two buses just to pay a bill or send a parcel, we knew we had to do something," says Landlord Gary Mitchell. "We've got the space, the WiFi, and the coffee machine is always on." The pop-up service will handle standard mailing, bill payments, and cash withdrawals. Gary adds, "Pop in to post your letters, and stay for a tea and a slice of my wife's Victoria sponge. It’s all about keeping the heart of Stoneleigh beating."
